Company Profile: Wood For Industries, located in Binghamton, NY currently employees two full-time and one part-time employees. They were founded in 1992 by current owner Mike Laviska. They can design and manufacture many types of custom wood enclosures to suit the customers' needs.

Situation: Experiencing a decreasing demand for work, Wood For Industry needed additional marketing. A sales lead requested photos of past work. Realizing that its internal staff was not trained to do professional photography in time to meet with the prospective client, Wood For Industry contacted New York's Southern Tier Region RTDC Center (AM&T - Alliance For Manufacturing & Technology), a NIST MEP affiliate for help.

Project: Using a digital camera, photos were taken of current completed projects. Using Adobe Photoshop we were able to clean-up older photos (to remove work environment background). After the final designs were approved, they were printed on a color laser printer and burned onto a CD-ROM for the client. Additionally these images were reduced and used to create a Web site for the client (www.woodforindustry.com). After the Web site was up, its address was submitted to the search engines.

Impacts: As a direct result of the work done by AM&T new clients have placed orders and one additional staff has been added. Sales have increased by 5%.
