Lean Six Sigma White Belt Program
In this half-day seminar, you will gain a broad understanding of the Lean Six Sigma improvement methodology, concepts, and language. This course provides an overview of Lean Six Sigma concepts and language and an introduction to the Define-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control (DMAIC) process improvement cycle.
This introductory course is quick, informative, and an easy fit to your busy schedule.
The overall objective of this course is to provide you with a first step toward successful implementation of process improvement methods by developing familiarity with the basic concepts and language of Lean Six Sigma.
After completing this course, you should be able to:
- Understand how Lean and Six Sigma are integrated into a single process improvement methodology to achieve higher quality and greater process speed.
- Recognize the five step DMAIC model used to improve processes.
- Relate Lean Six Sigma concepts to the overall business mission and objectives or your organization or department.
- Think about your organization as a collection of processes, with inputs that determine the output.
- Recognize the organizational factors that are necessary groundwork for a successful process improvement program.
This four-hour program will be offered 8/9/19, 8 am – noon. Registration and continental breakfast at 7:30 am.
Who Should Attend?
This program is targeted at executives, team members, managers, supervisors and other individuals who need an understanding of Lean Six Sigma but aren’t expected to run projects or use the tools.
Anyone interested in acquiring a basic understanding of Lean Six Sigma and how it might benefit their organization is encouraged to attend. This program will be beneficial to those planning to attend Green Belt Training and for anyone in the organization that might be involved, directly or peripherally, with Lean Six Sigma improvement projects.
Deborah Forbey, Certified Master Black Belt
Deb Forbey is a GE Certified Master Black Belt with 19 years of Lean Six Sigma experience. Prior to acquiring Master Black Belt certification in 2000, Deb spent 15 years working in manufacturing and new product development in roles such as Designer, Product Development Engineer and Engineering Manager. In addition to MBB certification, Deb is also certified as a TWI Job Instruction and Job Relations trainer by the TWI Institute; as a Project Management Professional (PMP®) by the Project Management Institute and Lean Product Development and Lean Office trainer by NIST MEP. Deb is a graduate of Cardinal Stritch University, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and has completed post graduate work at the University of North Florida’s school of Business and SUNY Oswego.
