The Center for International Business Advancement (CIBA) at Binghamton University is a regional collaboration of academia, industry and economic development organizations with a goal to increase the exporting capacity and global competitiveness of Southern Tier small and mid-sized companies. CIBA participating members and partners include the Small Business Development Center at Binghamton University, the Alliance for Manufacturing & Technology, the Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce, The Agency, Broome County IDA/LDC, and other regional organizations.

CIBA promotes internationalization and global connectivity to both businesses and policy makers as an innovative strategy for increased growth, profitability and job creation. About 95% of people and 70% of the world’s purchasing power are outside the U.S. Moreover, exporting companies grow an average of 22% faster, with specifically sales, job creation, and employee earnings growing faster than those of non-exporters. Companies that export also tend to better weather the fluctuations in the U.S. economy, and to combat direct competition more effectively.

The COVID-19 pandemic will be a history-altering event, including for global trade, global supply chains and manufacturers from all over the world. But where will it take us? We kindly invite you to participate in this short survey organized by the CIBA alliance in an effort to collect information about the exporting activities, strategies and export-related challenges that Southern Tier companies are facing in the current Covid-19 pandemic situation, and the policies and measures that you think could encourage export growth in a post-pandemic world. We invite executives from both exporting and non-exporting companies to participate in the survey. Your feedback is important to us; it will contribute to the development of a more effective Action Plan for Building Export Capacity in the Southern Tier Region.

This short survey will take no more than 10 minutes of your time.
